The Misery Vampire

His dark powers are strong and still growing
He looks upon you with eyes that are knowing
You feel the shudder as he speaks your name
He calls upin you-it is time to play his game
It doesn’t matter what the question
Only know that misery is his new obsession
You hear it in his voice each time that he speaks
Oh your weakness he will definitely seek
You feel your pulse begin to BeatHard
You take a deep breathe and stay on guard
Each word being shot at you like a Thorne
With your last breath it has now been sworn
You stand tall and make a new decision
You will follow this pledge with absolute precision
Your replies will be dripping with sarcasm and disdain
With this new attitude you show no shame
Answering each question with a new question
Where this leads is at your discrection
Give him absolutely no time to object
Only with enough time to reflect
On where you are with this new attitude

The Shack

Right from the start- Clever words they do use

Dropping hints and very subtle clues

You smile with confidence and willingly choose

To walk this path thinking you just can’t lose

Days-  Weeks- Months-  Years

You think, how did I end up here

The comments- the sarcasm- the jeers

You simply cannot believe your ears

From you slipping your sanity goes

You are now thinking this job really blows

The coffee- the smokes- the jokes

You know someone you really want to choke

Right from the start- as soon as they spoke

From inventory all the way to month end

Wondering today who you will possibly offend

On the conference call that we must all attend

Hours later-you realize we did survive

You give yourself a secret high-five

The task ahead right on in you dive

Aloud you say- I can make it till Five

“My Houston Boys”

 For all the ones that I dish it out to on a daily basis

 Do not come to me for your own personal oasis

 I will not spare your feelings or feel any remorse

  For I can trade words with anyone of course

  The words from me will flow with passion

  Some of it even laced with compassion

  There is no shame or guilt from me you will see

  From you at times there will be some begging pleas

  I will ignore these and continue my banter

  For I am truly known as a great enchanter

  So, keep them coming, your words we trade

  I can bounce them right back, indeed in spades.

  If you are ever feeling completely overwhelmed

  Do not fear, it is common with me at the helm.

With all the turn around the people are never the same
So, please don’t be offended if I don’t learn your name.

Have no fear about feeling neglected
For my skills are absolutely perfected

I won’t take the time to adjust to your personality
I will just sit back and judge your mentality.

This will never cause me any great pause
For, I will judge you completely on your flaws.

My skill with words will keep you at bay
You will never know exactly what to say

To keep my comebacks at a tolerable level
Choose your words and be very careful

For I know no fear and have no boundaries
But, I admit, I can be bribed with brownies

So, keep all this in mind when you start your career
Things are definitely not all that they appear.

Do learn to never ask the question “Why?”
It will only confuse and bring an obscure reply.
